AJ Bhati Owner/Operator - KaPai Group
AJay's career spans almost three decades across industries such as Food & Beverage, Hospitality, Poultry, and Retail. Starting from the bottom, he rose through the ranks, eventually serving as Vice President for a food retail company before being promoted to Chief Operating Officer. AJay has worked in China, Hong Kong, India, and New Zealand, with business travels to the US, Dubai, Australia, and Taiwan.
AJay has been instrumental in setting up well-known brands such as IHOP and Chatime in India. He also achieved a major milestone by creating India’s first meat retail business, scaling it to over 100 stores. His expertise includes business setup, supply chain management, training and human resources.
In 2018, AJay & Jen founded KaPai Cleaning, which has since expanded into KaPai Logistics and KaPai Waste Management (SKIP trailers Wairarapa).
Through his leadership and focus on innovation, AJay continues to grow the KaPai brand, delivering excellence across all ventures.
Outside of work, AJay is a volunteer firefighter and also serves as a member of the community patrol. A devoted family man, he enjoys spending time with his wife, daughter, and their four-legged friend, Lil Bro. He’s also passionate about riding his motorbike and is also working towards getting his Private Pilots License.
